Pros and Cons of the Ice Bucket Challenge

So, this Ice Bucket Challenge has gone viral in social media since July 2014 and become a trending phenomenon until now! Honestly I don't really understand why people are doing this challenge at first. I was wondering why the celebrities and well-known people do this challenge. I thought that it was only done for fun but I was wrong. As I make a research on it (research through Google of course :p ), now I realize the purpose were to fund-raising and spread the awareness about the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or best known as the Lou Gehrig's Disease. There are two ways to support this ALS awareness; No 1: is to directly donating through the ALS website and No.2: is to do the Ice Bucket Challenge.  My understanding is that when a person is doing the ice bucket challenge, he'll nominate others to do the challenge as well and the nominated person will have to do it within 24hours or otherwise they'll have to donate.

I think I just started to know the existence of this challenge after I watched one of my favourite Youtubers Ryan doing it >.< Well of course there were lots of other people have done it too, like these popular celebrities.

Why are they wasting such energy/time/water to complete the challenge? Yeah it was to create awareness, I get it. But isn't it is much easier if you just donate it directly? I'm not saying that their act is useless, of course it's a good thing because the news said that the #Icebucketchallenge has helped in the increment of the fund-raising activity for ALS Association. But then some people only make it Just for A "Challenge" and then they were challenging their friends to do it as well. There's no sense of creating awareness in it or being aware from it. People have also complaining that the act is wasting water as some region like California is in drought. Well we can't say that they are wrong. We can't also say that the ice bucket challenge is useless. It is actually how we perceived the outcome from it.

Forgive me if I'm wrong. But seriously guys, if you are doing the Ice Bucket Challenge, please make it more educational as the sole purpose is to create awareness to others on ALS and let's not just doing it because it is a trending phenomenon and therefore you think you have to do it too, Okay?

Love and Marriage

Have you ever wondering of what is the difference between Love and Marriage? I got my answer as I read a story when I was searching for information on this (via internet of course XD).Personally, I think this is one of the best demonstration on how to differentiate between love and marriage. I'm going to share this with you so sit tight, take time to read it and make your own evaluation.

Source: Google Image

This is how it goes:

A student asks a teacher,

"What is love?"

The teacher said,

"in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the field, got thru first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders,

'may be there is a bigger one later.'

Then he saw another bigger one...but again he thinks that maybe there is even bigger one waiting for him. Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he starts to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, and he knows he has missed the biggest one and regretted. So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.

The teacher told him,

"this is love...you keep on looking for a better one, but then later your realized, you have already missed the person.."

"What is marriage then?"

The student asked.

The teacher said,

"in order to answer your question, again, go to the corn field and choose the biggest corn and come back. The same rule is applied: you can got through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

So, the student went to the corn field, this time he is being careful not to repeat the previous mistake. When he reach the middle of the field, he has picked one medium corn that he feel satisfy, and come back to the teacher.

The teacher told him,

"This time you bring back a corn. You look for one that is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best one you get. This is marriage."

Did you get the point? I hope you did.
